From 1874 to 2014, Armitage Construction has been going from strength to strength and is delighted to be celebrating 140 successful years working within the construction industry.
The Armitage family has an enviable history and reputation throughout the North West of England for delivering high quality construction and development projects to both traditional and contemporary specifications.
We are proud to have worked on some of the most prestigious buildings in the North West, including Chethams School of Music, Manchester Law Courts, Little Moreton Hall, Dunham Massey, Jodrell Bank and of course our latest project Elizabeth Gaskell’s House, to name but a few.
Holding the reins today, Daniel Armitage is the 5th generation of his family to lead the company. Daniel states that his “greatest passion comes from taking redundant heritage buildings and transforming them to re-ignite dormant energy – to me, that’s the true definition of regeneration.”
Today, the Armitage ‘brand’ has grown to include its own Property Portfolio, Project Management division, a Facilities Management business and an in house training operation in addition to retaining its core construction and development operations.
Our initial celebrations were held on 6th May at Elizabeth Gaskell’s House. Joining our celebration were several of their trustees and the architects practice Bernard Taylor Partnership. This was then followed by visits to our sites to hand out cakes to all employees.
