Armitage were appointed to undertake the construction of a new single storey classroom block at Abbey Gate College Infant & Junior School.
Based in the village of Aldford just outside of Chester, the new energy efficient building provides three spacious classrooms with covered outdoor areas.
The development also provides a library area and space for learning enrichment and has allowed the expansion of current facilities in the main building.
The development was constructed with welsh blue slate, oak and artisan brick from a local manufacturer, ensuring the building was in keeping with the character and heritage of the village.
The existing footpaths and soft landscaping has been reconfigured, including new hard surface finishes around the building.
"The Site Manager and his team were attentive to the requirments of the College, the Eaton Estate and the teachers and pupils who would be using the building. Whilst the building sits beautifully in our grounds and appears to have always been there, the inside provides a vibrant and stimulating learning space for the children."
